Calling all old school 40k players! What editions do you still play or use rules from?
What's your favorite editions rule wise?
What house rules do you play to make 10th edition more fun?
Specifically, what LOS rules do you add/change?
I'm jumping back into the game after 20+ years and don't 100% enjoy 10th edition rules. I like the simplification of list building/wargear/datasheets etc, but LOS rules are so different from 3rd edition. Feel free to share any opinions you have on what editions/rules have been more fun over the years. And if you like making your own house rules please share those aswell.
BTW, if your have some condescending comments about how 10th edition rules are good as is, or that I should play a different game, then move along. I don't GAF what you think if you don't have the imagination to mix things up for fun. I have read the rules and mostly understand RaW, but I'm only playing garage/narrative games with my friends. I will probably never go to any tournaments, and even playing at the LGS is unlikely. Once I've figured out my own house rules we are going to be playing a very different game from 10th edition, and that is just fine.
